The amount of flavor these Greek Burgers pack is simply out of this world! Juicy, succulent and mega flavorful, these burgers are a total showstopper!
Downright swoon-worthy, we refer to these burgers as "ultimate" because the amount of flavor they pack is dizzyingly delicious! These Ultimate Greek Burgers are virtually guaranteed to become a favorite and you'll be adding them to your burger-making regimen!
I absolutely love a good Greek Gyro and Turkish Döner Kebab. And so it was only a matter of time before I transformed this love affair into the form of burger, this particular one being something along the lines of a "gyro burger." But it's sooooo much more than that.
Can you guess what flavors are packed into these juicy, succulent, burger patties? First we have the meat and you can choose whichever meat you prefer: Beef, pork, lamb, chicken or turkey. Then we've got garlic, red onions, fresh parsley, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts, my special homemade Greek Seasoning Blend, and crumbled feta cheese. Then they're topped with tomatoes, red onions, my special homemade Greek Tzatziki Sauce, and some extra crumbled feta cheese. And it's still not over – next it's all of that sitting on a bed of fresh, zesty arugula leaves. And if you want to take it even a step further, you can make your own Homemade Hamburger Buns.
With all of those ingredients packed into these, can you just imagine the burst of flavors you'll get when you bite into one of these Greek Burgers? Wowza!
As mentioned, these burgers incorporate two "must make" ingredients, Homemade Tzatziki Sauce and our Homemade Greek Seasoning Blend. Do not let yourself be tempted to go out and get the store-bought stuff on either. TRUST ME, these homemade versions will pay off BIG TIME. (Plus you'll also need the homemade Greek seasoning to make these Homemade Greek Gyros, and trust me you'll want to try those too! You'll also need it for this super easy and super delicious Slow Cooker Greek Chicken.) And the good news is that both the tzatziki sauce and the Greek seasoning blend can be made well in advance.
So be sure to grab the recipe for our Homemade Tzatziki Sauce and make it in advance so the flavors can have time to meld.
The Homemade Greek Seasoning Blendcan be made at least several days in advance (it will keep much longer than that but I like to use it while it's still "fresh" for the best flavor).
And as mentioned you can also make these deeeelicious Homemade Hamburger Buns!
I don't know about you, but I'm hungry. Ready to make some Greek Burgers?
Then let's get started!
Combine the meat, red onion, parsley, pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, feta cheese, salt and Greek seasoning in a mixing bowl.
Use your hands to thoroughly combine the mixture.
Form the mixture into equal-sized patties.
Cook the patties on a grill on pan fry over medium-high heat, about 2-3 minutes on each side or according to desired doneness (is using poultry or pork, make sure it's thoroughly cooked through).
If you're frying these on the stove, I like to use the Lodge Cast Iron Grill Pan to get those pretty grill marks.
Arrange some arugula on the bottoms of each hamburger bun. Place the patties on top.
Add tomatoes…
And red onions…
And spoon some tzatziki sauce and some crumbled feta on top.
Add the top hamburger buns and serve immediately.
Enjoy!
